Terms of Use for Nonna's Cookbook
Last updated: 6 November 2026How this fits with Apple's EULAApple's standard licence agreement (EULA) covers your licence to use the app. These Terms add to it. If they conflict, these Terms apply to the Community and Apple's to the licence.Who we areNonna's Cookbook is run by Caleb Terranova, a sole trader in Western Australia. "We" and "us" mean that sole trader. You can reach us at [email protected]. Our Privacy Policy (https://privacy.nonnascookbook.net) explains what the app stores and where.By using the app you agree to these Terms. If you don't, please don't use it.Your CookbookYour Recipes, photos, Meal Plan and notes are yours. They are stored in your iCloud account, or in the Creator's iCloud account if you are in a Family. We have no copy of them and can't recover them if you delete them or lose your iCloud data. Keep your own backup (the app can export one). Apple's iCloud terms apply to that storage.Accounts. Accounts are being introduced in stages. If you create one, give your real date of birth and keep your sign-in to yourself. One account is for one person. You can delete your account in the app at any time. We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these Terms or was created by someone under the minimum age.The CommunityThe Community is a public database of Recipes that every person using the app can read. Unless you mark a Recipe as a Family secret, the Creator's device Publishes it there.Your content. When you Publish a Recipe you keep ownership, and you give us and everyone using the app a free, worldwide licence to store, display, Save and copy it within the app, signed with your Family's name. You promise that you wrote it or have the right to share it, and that it follows the rules below. A Recipe is a list of ingredients and steps in your own words; don't copy someone else's writing or photos without permission.Rules. Don't Publish anything that:• is illegal, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit or violent;• is spam, advertising or a link to something unrelated to cooking;• infringes someone's copyright or trade mark, or breaches their privacy;• is dangerous, such as unsafe food handling presented as safe;• includes personal information (yours or anyone's), or is misleading about who wrote it.Reports. Any Member can Report a Community recipe with a reason. When Reports come from three accounts, the app hides the Recipe from everyone until we review it. We review Reports and Takedowns by hand, and don't promise to see every Recipe before it appears. We then restore it or remove it. You use Community recipes at your own risk.Blocking. From a Community recipe you can hide a Creator or Family you don't want to see. Their Recipes disappear from your Community browse and search, and stay hidden on your devices. You can unblock them in Settings. Blocking is private to you; the other person isn't told.Takedown. We can remove any Community recipe, for good, at our discretion, without notice, if it breaks these Terms or the law. A Family can't undo a Takedown. We may also stop an account from Publishing if it repeatedly breaks the rules. To report something urgent, or to ask us to remove content (including a copyright complaint), write to [email protected]. We aim to act on Reports within 24 hours and will answer any message within 30 days. Removing something from the Community doesn't remove a copy someone has already Saved to their own Cookbook.Recipes are not advice• Allergens and food safety. We don't check Community recipes or imported Recipes for allergens, cross-contamination or safe cooking. Check every ingredient label and cook food safely. If you have an allergy, don't rely on the app.• Nutrition. Nutrition values are estimates calculated on your device. They are not medical or dietary advice.• Scaling and conversions. Scaled amounts, unit conversions and cooking times are a guide. Use your own judgement.• Imports. The app reads photos, web pages, text and files with Apple's on-device Foundation Models, which can make mistakes. Check an imported Recipe before you rely on it. Make sure you have the right to import what you import; we don't own web pages or books you import from.Nonna's PlusNonna's Plus is the paid plan, per Family, sold through the App Store as a subscription or a one-off lifetime purchase. It is not on sale yet. When it is:• Apple takes payment, renews subscriptions, and handles trials, refunds and cancellation under Apple's EULA and App Store terms. Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings, at least 24 hours before the period ends. We can't refund App Store purchases ourselves.• The prices, trial length and what Plus unlocks are shown in the app before you buy. Your shared Cookbook, sharing, this week's Meal Plan and the Shopping List stay free, and you can always export your Cookbook.• We may change Plus prices or features; changes to a price don't apply until your next renewal and you will see Apple's own notice. The app and the law• Consumer guarantees. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including guarantees that can't be excluded. Where the law allows, our liability for a failure is limited to resupplying the app or the cost of doing so.• Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for lost data, loss of Recipes, or harm from using a Recipe, an estimate or an import. The app is provided as is.• Our work. The app, its design and the Recipes we write (signed "From Nonna's Cookbook") belong to us. Don't copy or resell them.• Ending. You can stop using the app at any time and delete it. We may suspend access to Community Publishing if you break these Terms.• Age. You must be at least 13 to use the app or create an account, or older where local law requires (16 in Australia and Brazil, 14 in South Korea and Canada, 18 in India). Accounts for people under 18 have extra protections, described in our Privacy Policy.• Changes. If we change these Terms we will update the date above and say so in the app's What's New. Using the app after that means you accept the new Terms.• Law. These Terms are governed by the law of Western Australia, Australia, and its courts.
